My Style Monday 1

My Style Monday is an idea of mine that I'd like to try out. The plan is that every other Monday Quinn or I will share a personal idea about our own style, rather than the general things we usually post. I think that this will allow you to see how you can implement the guidelines we talk about to create your own unique outfits, so let's get to it.

This week I want to talk about my style in general for the colder months. My outfit begins with my favorite pair of L.L.Bean chukka boots. Not only do they look fashionable and go well with any outfit, but they are also extremely comfortable and provide good traction for the icy ground. Plus, the treated leather keeps out water and snow.
Moving up I have a slim pair of jeans, khakis, or chukkas from Old Navy. I buy most of my bottoms from there because the feel of the fabric and the fit of the pant are amazing. For some people they may not have the right size, but I just recommend buying the size according to the waist and cuffing the legs.

For my top, I usually wear a collared shirt from Express, Abercrombie, or Old Navy followed by an Aeropostale, American Eagle, Express, Old Navy, or Abercrombie Sweater. The brand though, aren't the point. What I look for is a nice, well fitted collared shirt and a sweater that matches the rest of the outfit.

Finally, I don my double breasted Gap pea-coat and head out.

Thank you for indulging me in my trial phase of My Style Monday. I hope this has helped you realize how you can use general fashion to influence your style.
