Women's Fall Fashion

It has become officially cold now that it is already a week into October, and cold weather means its time for fall fashion. Fall is one of my favorite seasons because of the style. Fall brings toned down colors such as maroon, dark green, and brown, it brings cozy fabric to keep you warm from that frigid weather, and it brings sweaters. Lots of sweaters.

Sweaters: The number one thing you will be seeing this fall is sweaters. They are so easy to dress up and dress down. Put with the right necklace or with a collar popped from under and they are automatically a nice outfit for going out, but adding a scarf and they can just as well be great for a slouchy, more casual outfit for snuggling up on some of those colder fall days.

Plaid: During fall season you're definitely going to see a lot of plaid. Flannel is the perfect transitional layer to keep you warm during those cold days.

Jackets: Fall brings weather that is cold, but still not cold enough to make you bring out your winter coat, that's why light jackets are a great idea. Some popular jackets that work for many different occasions are army, leather, and cargo jackets, and you can always add a cute flannel to your jacket to spice it up.

Vests: Sometimes when it's not too cold, instead of wearing a jacket you can wear a vest. It is such a versatile piece that is warm, stylish, and comfortable.

Floppy Hat: The floppy hat is making its transition from summer to fall. Wool keeps your head warm, and something about this hat just brightens up every outfit. Pair it with a fur vest, or a green army jacket, the floppy hat goes with almost anything, and don't worry about it going out of season because when summer comes back that floppy hat will be your best friend once again.

Men's Fall Fashion

Hey Everyone,

So, now that we have four people on the suit yourself team, we're going to start writing more regularly. Currently, our plan is to create a post every friday. This month we have: Men's Fall Fashion, Women's Fall Fashion, Halloween Costumes, and Fall Accesories, so let's jump right in!

The easiest thing to talk about when discussing seasonal clothes is color, so let's start with that. A strong basis for fall color would be: brown, burgundy, tan, navy, and grey. However don't be afraid to experiment with your color schemes. Now, on to the main topic. The biggest thing I want to stress about fall is layers. Have you ever heard of Live, Laugh, Love? Well, in fall, it's Live, Laugh, Layer. Let's take a look at some of the layering and clothing options that fall brings.

Jackets: Jackets are great options for those chilly fall days when it's too warm for a full coat, but cold enough that a sweater isn't enough. Some popular options are the cargo and leather jackets. It all depends on your personal style.

Sweaters: Sweaters are a great way to add some variety to your fall outfits. You can wear them almost everyday, and there are so many varieties. Whether thick, thin, formal, or casual, sweaters are always a good choice.

Scarves: A scarf is the only right way to keep your neck warm while making a fashion statement. Not only do they come in different colors, but you can wear them in a variety of ways too. Here is a great website that talks about all those possibilities.

Beanies: This is the era of the slouchy beanie. This accessory is popular in winter too, but match it with a scarf of the same color and you'll be ready to head out into the fall weather. However, I have to emphasize that, like all hats, beanies are not a way to get out of doing your hair! They sit on the back of your head, so show of that perfectly coiffed hair!

Boots: Boots are the perfect footwear for the fall season. Not only are they warm and waterproof, but they're stylish too. Some popular choices are (from left to right): chukka, chelsea, and work (timberland) boots. Again, choose an option that fits your style.

Advertisement Addition

Hey readers,
So I'm guessing you've read the title of this post and are starring at the screen hoping it's not true . . . But it is. Suit Yourself Fashion is about to start using google ads. We'd just like to say that the ads shouldn't interfere with your usage of the site, and we will try to filter the advertisements to only be clothing related. Think of the advertisements not as a hinderance, but as a resource. They can be an easy way to find good clothes. We will try our best to only show ads of stores that we think have clothes that might interest you. Thank you for your understanding.

Finding Your Face Shape

Hey everyone! Today, we're talking about face shape. I know what you're thinking, "What does face shape have to do with fashion?" Well, a lot actually! Your face shape defines what shape glasses you should be wearing, how you should style your hair, and even what kind of hats will look best on you, so, without further ado, here's how you find your face shape.

Materials:
measuring tape
pen
paper

1. Measure across your forehead at the widest point and write it down.
2. Measure the distance between your cheekbones at the widest point and write it down.
3. Measure your jawline at the widest point and write it down.
4. Measure the distance between your ears by putting the ruller just under your eyes and write it down.
5. Measure from your hairline to your chin and write it down.
6. Find the ratio of #4:#5 it should either be 1:1.5, 1:1, or 1:2

1. Heart: 1>2>3
The best way to go is long on top and shorter on the sides. If you do decide to go for a shorter style, ask for a square haircut to try and balance the face shape.

2. Square: 1=2=3 ratio is 1:1 or 1:1.5 (angular features and jawline)
The best hair cut for this face shape is one that is softer on the sides to round out the face and short cropped to accentuate your features.

3. Round: 1=2=3 ratio is 1:1 (soft features and jawline)
It’s important to choose a style that can be worn with some height. Try to avoid sharp fringes as they accentuate the roundedness of the face shape.
Sunglasses: Rectangular, square, and wrap

4. Diamond: 2>1=3
Try choosing a haircut with a swept fringe and layers on top to add volume. Avoid going too sharp around the edges as this will make the ears stick out.

5. Oblong: ratio is 1:2 (sometimes between 1.5 and 2)
For your haircut it's all about balance. Don't mind the sides too short or the top too long. You want to decrease the apparent length of your face. Just keep that in mind.

Sunglasses: Wrap, square, wayfarer, and rectangle

6. Oval: ratio is exactly 1:1.5
Congrats! You have the perfect face shape. Basically anything looks good on you. The only thing you have too avoid is full length fringe on your hair because it can make your face look rounder.
